How to Shift your Leadership with Language

Shift your language. Shift your leadership. Shift your life.

We do not experience people (ourselves included), places, and things the way that they are...we experience them the way we think about them.

The language of leadership is intentional and powerful. For the next several weeks we will look at specific words that we can incorporate into our language.

And > But If you think about the word but, it diminishes everything that was said before it. And on the other hand is expansive and abundant. And is the word used when we want to hold space for both. For example: "I strive to show up as a present father in my home, but the demands of business and life can sometimes get in the way." VS. "I strive to show up as a present father in my home, AND the demands of business and life sometimes get in the way." AND acknowledges that the first part is true. The striving! AND helps us see the possibility of holding both the reality that we are striving (and winning) AND it is a continuous learning process.

That's all for today. Spend the next week looking at your use of the word BUT and how it limits your thinking. Substitute the word AND and recognize how it expands your thinking.

Today is the day.

You got this!
